A few years ago, getting a tattoo was considered a very risky move. This is because tastes change over time, and tattoos are permanent…. Or they once were!
According to History of Tattoos, 21% of Americans had at least one tattoo in 2012 – which is around 45 million people. And 17% of people who get tattooed, live to regret the decision. This is understandable if you get the name of a loved one or favorite football team tattooed on your arm, only to have a change of heart later on!
Laser tattoo removal was a costly and painful experience, but the only option available for those living with regret. Fortunately, I offer non-laser tattoo removal to my clients in Washington State looking for a safe and effective treatment.
How does non-laser tattoo removal work?
My non-laser tattoo removal method is completely safe for all skin types, has fewer risks of hypo-pigmentation or hyperpigmentation, blistering and scarring than traditional laser removal treatments.
The non-laser tattoo removal procedure is nearly identical to the application of permanent makeup and tattooing. However, instead of inserting pigment into the skin, I implant the removal solution into the unwanted tattoo to help break up and push out the old pigment as the skin heals.
The solution used consists of glycolic acid and enzymes to gently break down old pigment particles from the tattoo, which are safely disposed through the lymphatic system.
Depending on the size, position and color of the tattoo, you might need several sessions to completely remove all evidence of the tattoo. However, this can be discussed during the consultation where I provide you with a thorough brief on what to expect.

Can you completely remove a tattoo with tattoo removal treatment?
Yes, however, depending on the tattoo age, position and size, you might require more treatments to completely remove the tattoo.
How many treatments will I need to remove my tattoo?
This is largely dependent on the individual tattoo, but it usually takes up to 6 sessions for complete tattoo removal.
Are old tattoos harder to remove?
No, in fact older tattoos are usually easier to remove than newer ones as the ink has already faded over time. This means it will probably require fewer sessions for complete removal.
Does tattoo removal leave a scar?
The non-laser tattoo removal procedure is essentially the inverse of permanent makeup tattooing except the solution breaks up the older pigment as the skin heals. There should be minimal to no scarring after the procedure.
